Peter Harper founded the company in 1962 with a single lorry he purchased from his former employer. Two years later, the family business had a new addition of a BMC costing £2000. Peter began to haul farm produce to wholesale market in 1965, using temperature controlled vehicles – a mainstay of company operations today. Sons Nigel and Jonathon now run the company, alongside 3rd generation Harpers (Nigel’s sons Mathew and Adam). Harper and Sons tool first place at the Truckfest in Peterborough in 2003 and 2005. Toy safety, manufacturer’s minimum age – 14 years.
